Imogen spent eight weeks training one on one with her teacher Yogi Pramod in Rishikesh India in 2010 after graduating with an Arts/Commerce Degree at Monash University. The Himalayan foothills studio, perched high above the Ganges river, was the perfect place to drop out of the mental distraction and into a yogic lifestyle. Yogi Pramod himself raised in the ashram environment by Swami Rama, was able to work closely with Imogen training her in Astanga Tristhana yoga and the Patajali Yoga sutras.

Imogen worked on private luxury yachts instructing yoga and as a stewardess in 2010-11. Since then she has delivered classes regularly for a high school, inside personal training studios and at gyms as well as tailored private classes.

She added Satyananda Yogic studies 1 to her instructing, with 6 months training at Satyananda ashrams at Mangrove mountain and Daylesford. In 2014, she completed her Vinyasa flow training with Power Living Teachers training 200hr in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

In 2015, Imogen completed yoga for kids and teens training at Over The Moon studio in Castlemaine, Victoria with founder and director Edna Reinhardt (1 day workshop, September 2015). She also studied pre-natal yoga training with Bliss Baby Yoga (Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Weekend Intensive, July 2015).

Imogen brings nine years of personal development training and facilitation experience as an accredited facilitator with Jim Stynes’ Reach Foundation in Melbourne. Imogen was recruited at age 16 and trained to coach, mentor and deliver workshops to groups of teenagers (weekend retreats, 90 minute high school workshops) as well as large scale events for young adults and corporate sponsors.

Imogen is fully registered Level 1 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. http://www.yogaaustralia.org.au/teachers/imogen-martyn

INDIA- HIMALAYAN FOOTHILLS (NORTHERN INDIA)

Yogi Pramod delivers teacher’s regular training courses in Rishikesh, (8 hrs north of) Delhi. His courses are capped at four students. I made the pilgrimage to India and trained with Yogi Pramod in Feb-March 2010. This was my first yoga training course and it was a beautifully transformative experience. I highly recommend his life changing teaching style and programs.

AUSTRALIA – VICTORIA

DAYLESFORD

Satyananda Ashram is a haven of peace and tranquility. It is located 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne. I have completed my yogic studies 1 training with their teachers in 2012. I highly recommend their short retreats. You may even take a day trip out to their beautiful ashram environment where you can do a yoga Nidra class in the morning and have a yummy lunch in their dining room. You just book in for a day visit on their website.

MEDITATION WORKSHOPS- MT ELIZA

At Shiva School of Meditiation and Yoga I did my first ever meditation course in 2010. Their sublime ashram is located in Mt Eliza on the Mornington Peninsular ( 1 hr drive from Melbourne) with inspiring lectures and meditations led by Swami Shankarananda and his team. His publication “Happy For No Good Reason” meditation books and CDs are brilliant. I recommend this place for a short mediation retreat and longer meditation training courses.
